    Various1971-1980DramaSci-FiUnited Kingdom

    ımdb:
Earth’s Moon is the site of Moonbase Alpha, a scientific research colony nestled in the crater Plato. Staffed by over 300 men and women from Earth, it is the operations center for several space expeditions. It is also a watchdog for vast amounts of atomic waste from Earth stored in silos on the Moon’s far side. Magnetic radiation builds up and causes the wastes to explode with such force that the Earth’s centripetal pull on the Moon is overcome, and the Moon is broken free of Earth’s orbit to drift at incredible speed out of the Solar System off the plane of the ecliptic. The survivors on Moonbase Alpha are unable to return to Earth and must survive in unknown space on their wandering Moon. They encounter a planet whose advanced people project an illusion of a devastating attack on Moonbase.

  • Various – Lost and Found (2005)

    Various2001-2010AnimationDrama

Lost and Found is a film project for which six young filmmakers from Central and Eastern Europe have each developed a short film on the theme of generation. Together, these six short films make a whole cinema evening. Unique thereby is the selection of young directors, who are currently among the most talented in the Central and Eastern European region. Also special is that five of the short films (four short narrative films and one short documentary) are visually framed by an independent animation story. The filmmakers made their films with local producers in their home countries; postproduction was carried out in Germany. The theme generation is the thread running through the whole film. It mirrors a new selfunderstanding of young filmmakers in Central and Eastern Europe. Read More »

    Pastel de sangre (1971)

With Spanish cinema still under the oppressive Franco regime, four filmmakers banded together to create a horror anthology that examined classic themes through transgressive perceptions: Directed by José María Vallés, TAROT stars Julián Ugarte (ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK) in a grim tale of fanaticism set in the Middle Ages. Eusebio Poncela (THE CANNIBAL MAN) and Marisa Paredes (ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER) star in VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN, a unique take on Mary Shelley’s classic directed by Emilio Martínez-Lázaro (THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BED). TERROR AMONG CHRISTIANS, directed by Francesc Bellmunt, is a jolting vampire allegory set during Roman times. Jaime Chávarri – co-writer of VAMPYROS LESBOS and future icon of New Spanish Cinema – directs the twisted ghost story THE DANCE OR EMOTIONAL SURVIVALS starring Luis Ciges (THE CREATURE). Never available outside of Spain, CAKE OF BLOOD is now scanned in 4K from the original negative for the first time ever.Read More »

    Jesus Der Film (1986)

    Synopsis
JESUS – THE FILM is a monumental feature film in 35 episodes, shot on Super8. The individual episodes retell the story of the New Testament and were made by a total of 22 filmmakers from East and West Germany in 12 months. The project’s own history follows the story of Jesus Christ recruiting his apostles. The film’s creator Michael Brynntrup is a central and controversial figure of Berlin’s vivid independent community. His transgressive obsessions, as well as his capability to smuggle miles of Russian Super8 film-material through East-West customs, gathered a group of believers around him. Individuals and groups from various art factions filled the holy frame, inspired by the Dadaistic idea of an ‘ecriture automatic’. From one to another, they passed ideas, material and actors, including Michael Brynntrup himself as the title character. (IMDB)Read More »

Different black-and-white animation techniques tell several scary stories. There’s a story of a teenage boy who meets the wrong girl. Another tale deals with a small community where people disappear and are never seen again. Then there’s the narrative of a little Japanese girl who suffers from horrible nightmares followed by a tale where a man doesn’t get the rest he hoped for in an old not-so-abandoned house. These stories are connected by the story about a man with a devilish smile and four enormous dogs from hell and by a woman’s monologue about her fears.Read More »
