    Plot Summary:
Joe Spencer, a member of a motorcycle gang, is taking a shower. After his bout with personal hygiene, Joe encounters Andy Warhol’s “superstars,” who engage him in conversation. The superstars crack jokes he doesn’t understand and continually correct his poor pronunciation in an attempt to deflate his machismo. In response to these provocations, Joe becomes more obscene and more boasting, but ultimately, he cannot compete with the put-downs that are part of the put-on performances of the Warhol superstars, who prevail over him in the end. • George Pal – 7 Faces of Dr. Lao (1964)

    1961-1970FantasyGeorge PalUSAWestern

The movie is based on a novel called The Circus of Dr. Lao by Charles G. Finney about a mysterious, elderly Chinese gentleman who brings a rather unusual circus to a small Western town at the turn of the 20th century. The film opens as Dr. Lao (Tony Randall) rides into the town of Abalone on a donkey, pausing just long enough to light his pipe with a flame that sprouts from his thumb. He ignores the initial mockery of the locals and visits the newspaper office to place an advertisement about his circus coming to town. While there he overhears a conversation between the profiteering town bully, Clint Stark (Arthur O’Connell), and the plucky newspaper editor Edward Cunningham (John Ericson). Stark plans to buy out everyone in town for sinister (and capitalistic) purposes, and Ed is determined to prevent just that from happening. While the power struggle is established over the next 30 minutes, we are introduced to the rest of the cast including the widowed librarian, Angela Benedict (Barbara Eden), and a bevy of colorful town characters. Meanwhile, Dr. Lao has set up his circus just outside of town, where he will change the lives of the townsfolk forever.Read More »

Sex, Hood, Skate, and Videotape shot, edited, and released by Ian Reid in 2006 is a legendary and infamous video that has been unavailable in it’s entirety for 10+ years.

“I’m gonna take this time out to talk to you about Ian Reid’s video. It’s a timepiece that takes you on a trip from the bottom to the top. It was made amidst the streets of New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Los Angeles in the middle of skating with my friends, shootouts, sex, money and drugs. I’m here to adjust the game, to put the integrity back in skateboarding. The game’s all wrong- I’m gonna show you how to do this. Ian Reid’s video is 110% RAW and UNCUT. This is how a video should be made.”Read More »

  • Reginald Le Borg – Fall Guy (1947)

    USA1941-1950CrimeFilm NoirReginald Le Borg

Tom Cochrane has no memory of the murder. What he remembers is a party, a few unusually powerful drinks, a blonde songstress, and then waking up woozy in an unfamiliar room where there’s a bloody knife and a blonde stuffed lifeless in a closet. Held by the police, Tom escapes, beginning his desperate attempt to find out what happened and clear his name. The frequent noir theme of an innocent man trapped by circumstance plays out in the snappy Fall Guy, based on a story by Cornell Woolrich (Rear Window). Clifford (aka Leo) Penn, who would later have a prolific career as a TV director, portrays Cochrane. Robert Armstrong offers robust support as a cop who suspects Cochrane has been set up and helps him piece together clues. And Elisha Cook, Jr., whose career of playing seething weaklings includes the role of Wilmer in The Maltese Falcon, plays the elevator operator who may have vital information Cochrane needs.Read More »
