Frank (Sonny Carl Davis) and Loyd (Lou Perryman) spend most of their time drinking, flirting with women (even though Frank is married to Paulette), and thinking of get-rich-quick schemes since they can’t seem to hold down jobs. They tried frog farming and squirrel ranching, among other things, and now are in a failing roofing business. Finally, Loyd invents a gadget he calls the “Kitchen Wizard,” and they each make a thousand dollars selling the rights to a patent attorney who gives them a contract worth much more. However, their idea is stolen and they soon run out of money. Frank contemplates suicide, but Loyd talks him out of it by reminding him of his family and their friendship.Read More »

Yoji Kitami, a fisherman’s son, is a student in Tokyo. His father had died at sea and Taichiro, his brother, is sending him to the university. Storyline
In 1854, the patriarch Patrick O’Leary of the O’Leary family dies in an accident nearby Chicago while traveling amid-western prairie. Her son Jack becomes an idealistic lawyer; Dion is a gambler; and Bob helps his mother in the laundry business and marries local Gretchen (June Storey) in the old area known as The Patch. Dion meets the singer Belle Fawcett in the cabaret owned by Gil Warren and they fall in love with each other and become lovers.
