Buzz Kulik – The Yellow Canary (1963)

imdb summary
Andy (Pat Boone) is an arrogant pop singer about to be divorced by his wife (Barbara Eden) who treats his staff badly. On the same night he starts a job at a theater in Los Angeles his infant son is kidnapped. Despite requests from policeman Lieutenant Bonner (Jack Klugman), Paxton plays along with the kidnappers as they string him along even though they are willing to kill.
Such a rare film that this looks like it was projected on a wall and copied with a vhs videocamera, with the eventual dvdr made several vhs generations later. Someone bumped into the projector or camera a few times, so I had to recrop the frame and resize segments to match. Probably the worst video I’ve ever seen, but of course the seller rated the video quality as 8.5/10.
Anyway, cool to see (if you can see him) Pat Boone playing a more interesting role, even if there’s some showbiz caricature and some Shatner intensity. And it’s always nice to see an ex-cop bodyguard (Steve Forrest) manhandling a woman in a bar.
