Theroux is the perfect figure for this. Not just for his reputation within the British media, but because of how disarming he is. His quiet, standoff demeanour allows for the settlers to display their complete ethno-nationalist bloodlust in its fullest extent. Scenes of harassment are intercut with scenes of settlers gleefully overlooking conquest. Theroux doesn’t have to invoke much international law or historical context to show that this is a failed state.
The final scene with Daniella was truly insane to watch. I won’t spoil it but when she does *that* I audibly gasped
