Anna Maria, a girl from a small provincial town, runs away with her boyfriend to Rome because her parents are opposed to their marriage and asks her brother Roberto for protection. At Rome Anna Maria gets acquainted with Diana, her brother’s complicated lover, full of impetus, rebellion and disorder, and Paolo, a friend Roberto shares not only the flat but also concerns and hopes with. The absolute freedom which the two friends use to live with leads Anna Maria to discover a new way to conceive human relationships, hence she decides to shrug her moral prejudiges off
