In 1890’s Canada, everybody was off to the Klondike Gold Rush, and in Thomas Arslan’s Gold, seven German-American immigrants decide to get there the hard way, via hundreds of miles of uncharted wilderness.

Synopsis:
Set in 1898, Gold follows the trials and tribulations of Emily (Nina Hoss) a young female divorcee who joins a group of German settlers who are embarking on a perilous journey north in search of the lucrative gold country of Dawson. Commencing as a septet, the group slowly dwindles as the hardships of this 2,500 km expedition take their toil, with each and every step further north leading them further into a wilderness of despair and despondence.

Security is an absolutely no-budget film production, shoot on tree days in February 06 in
Hamburg, Germany. All cast and crew worked for free and the production was only
possible because of the huge support we got from local companies. We are very happy
to have well-known actor Peter Kurth playing the leading role.
