SYNOPSIS:
Get ready to be Shocked and Appalled with an All Out Assault on Humanity! Here’s the infamous “Flesh Trilogy,” three of the most outrageously insane Sexploitation Sickies of the 60s from husband and wife filmmakers Michael and Roberta Findlay which mix sex and violence into a malignant cocktail still potent today.

The madness starts with The Touch of Her Flesh where Richard Jennings discovers his wife Claudia in bed with another man, goes berserk, and is promptly hit by a car. In a classic case of overreaction, the now-crippled Jennings not only vows revenge on his wife but on all women everywhere, slaughtering strippers, hookers and go-go girls in a series of psycho killings which climax with a lovely little buzzsaw beheading.

Next Jennings extends The Curse of Her Flesh to the man he caught with Claudia as well as “everyone connected with him,” leading to murders by machete, a poisoned cat’s paw, and even a lethal G-string!

Finally in The Kiss of Her Flesh, Jennings fights the ultimate Battle of the Sexes with a tire iron, blowtorch, and, believe it or not, a lobster claw. Yipes! Hilariously depraved, deranged, disturbing, and definitely not part of our PC-world, here are three gruesome gems sure to make your jaw hit the floor!

Synopsis:
A man awakes from his sleep to discover that he’s in ancient Greece. He witnesses a scantily-clad woman whom he woos, then kills with a club. A group of lesbians find the man, tie him to a tree, then partake in an incredible deed. This curiosity was directed by Michael Findlay. Findlay was probably the most famous of a small group of underground New York filmmakers that were in operation in the 1960s. Joseph W. Sarno, Joseph P. Mawra, and Lou Campa were the others and they produced exploitation “roughies” Roughies were films that combined Noir/Suspense/Thriller film elements with the new found freedom to exploit sex. These films were produced expressly for the grindhouse market. They were low budget, probably ran a week to ten days in a theater and made a profit.

Take Me Naked is a mildly raunchy tale written by Michael Findlay’s wife Roberta about a sleazy Bowery bum who gets his kicks peeping upon his neighbor (played by Roberta Findlay). The film includes sequences narrated with Pierre Louÿs’ erotic classic The Songs of Bilitis. Songs is a collection of erotic, essentially lesbian, poetry published in Paris in 1894. There are gauzy suggestive filmed art house sequences that now seem to go on way too long and it comes off as amateurish filler.

Starts out as if this is going to be one of Findlay’s better efforts and certainly the performances are bright enough and the voice over/lip sync works well enough, this just loses it about two thirds through. I don’t know whether it was the umpteenth use of whipped cream or the over enthusiastic use of corn on the cob, but after being fairly well paced and well shot with decent sexy action, this treads water as if everyone had run out of ideas or possibly a certain someone had a penchant for the aforementioned activities and wanted nothing else. It’s a shame because the first use of the cream being spurted over the nude psychedelic dancers is most effective as was the initial dealings with the phallic vegetable. Lots of oddities and some really good moments just spoiled by the over indulgent final quarter or so.

The same year the The Beatles? second film, HELP!, premiered,
John Lennon?s future soul mate, avant-garde artist Yoko Ono, made her
acting debut in the twisted sickie SATAN’S BED. Ono, in a kimono, plays
the Japanese bride-to-be of a drug smuggling immigration agent who
wants to abandon crime crime for life with Yoko. But Lou, a small-time
drug dealer, doesn’t want to lose his main supplier so he cancels the
wedding by kidnapping Ono. And when he also hires three psychos –
Snake, Dip, and Angel – to rough her up, they create a mini-crimewave
that culminates in a wild attack upon… the wrong woman. Oy. So join
Yoko for a typical day in Sin City that starts when you climb under the
sheets of SATAN?S BED!

Comments:
Exploitation at its finest, This amazing time-capsule is a must-see primer for psychotronic movie fans. Like many other 60s grindhouse efforts, it outrageously combines more serious footage from an unreleased pic with unrelated and mismatching exploitation fare. In this case, the exploitation is provided by the incomparable Findlays (of “Flesh” trilogy fame), whose shadowy lit rape-fantasy shenanigans provide a stunning example of the “roughie” genre, mixed precariously with j.d. and lesbian-leather elements. Add to this the bizarre celebrity angle (a young Yoko Ono, threatening to, but thankfully never appearing in the nude), the lack-of-live sound and filmed-in-someone’s backyard technique common to such features, and you have an absolute compendium of 60s sleaze stylings. The naked-girl-tied-to-a-pool-table opening itself is worth the price of the video, not to mention the half-naked girls hiding in trees.
