Synopsis:
Masako Izumi gives a celebrated performance as Wakae the eponymous 15-year old heroine who is branded by her rural community. The developing relationship between her and Saburo and their possibilities for escape are portrayed in this film which celebrated critic Tadao Satoh included in his 1980s best 300 Japanese films list.
