Another beautiful comedy with Cleo Kretschmer & Wolfgang Fierek!

Inge, Drogistin in einer bayerischen Kleinstadt, hat ihr Herz an den Kraftfahrzeugmechaniker Hub verloren, ohne dass dieser auch nur im Entferntesten davon etwas ahnt. Inge will fürs erste auch gar nicht, dass Hub erfährt, wie es um sie steht. Nichts soll ihn ablenken von dem großen Ziel, dass er und ihr Bruder Wolfgang – Kraftfahrzeugmechaniker wie Hub – mit Verbissenheit und Energie verfolgen: den Bau einer Rennmaschine, um an einem Moto-Cross-Rennen teilnehmen zu können. Inge möchte einen Helden lieben, und so tut sie alles dafür, dass der Traum der Jungen in Erfüllung geht. Freilich kränkt es sie, dass der motorradbesessene Hub überhaupt keine Notiz von ihr nimmt. Trotzdem, als die Maschine beim Training zu Bruch geht und die Jungen den Mut verlieren und aus Geldmangel aufgeben wollen, schafft sie selbstlos bei ihrem Ausflug in München auf recht unkonventionelle Weise das benötigte Geld herbei und ermöglicht den beiden doch noch die Teilnahme an dem Rennen. Das Glück will es, dass Hub sogar als strahlender Sieger aus dem Rennen hervorgeht.

Nun ist, meint Inge, ihre Zeit gekommen: Endlich kann sie Hub offen ihre Gefühle zeigen. Doch der Sieger hat Augen für eine ganz andere, für die jüngere Marion, die ihn bewundernd anhimmelt. Darüber verliert Inge die Fassung und verlässt heulend die Siegesfeier. “Ist was?!” fragt Hub erstaunt. Immerhin ist er ihr nachgegangen, und zum erstenmal scheint er wahrzunehmen, dass die Schwester seines Freundes Wolfgang ein keineswegs hässliches Mädchen ist. — Was Klaus Lemke mit seinem Film Moto-Cross angestrebt hat, ist so etwas wie eine romantische Fernsehkomödie im schönsten Bayrisch, ist ein, wenn man so will, Zielgruppenfilm für Teens und Twens unter den Zuschauern und natürlich für alle, die sich jung fühlen, ist ein Film, der Mut machen will, die eigenen kleinen oder auch großen Träume zu verwirklichen.

Wie schon in seinem vorangegangenen Fernsehfilm sind Laien – mit denen Lemke auch in seinem Schwabinger Privatleben Umgang hat – auch diesmal wieder die Stars des Films. So wird der Zuschauer neben Ingeborg Kretschmer, die hier nach Idole und Sweethearts ein weiteres Mal für einen Film von Klaus Lemke vor der Kamera stand, auch anderen Gesichtern aus Lemke-Filmen wieder begegnen, etwa Wolfgang Fiereck und Uschi Gruber, die beide ebenfalls in Idole mitspielten. Es gibt aber auch neue Gesichter zu sehen wie etwa Hubertus Martin oder das Münchner Wirtsehepaar Anna und Johanna Führmann als Inge und Wolfgangs Eltern.

This critically well-received independent German film production was made and first seen in 1970, but did not receive general release until 1971. A group of five scientists have invented a machine which will unravel the whole fabric of time and space but have managed to blot the full memory of their achievement from their minds. They did this to prevent the complete destruction of space-time as we know it. However, they also programmed themselves to remember everything if someone uses the key words “a big grey-blue bird.” Gangsters bent on world domination and a young documentary film-team track down these scientists, each attempting to learn their secrets for completely different reasons.

Synopsis
The most authentic movie about Hamburg in 1970’s – Rock’n’roll, sex, drugs, 1970’s lifestyle, 1970’s hairstyle, murder, prostitution, Santana, bikers, Reeperbahn, and St. Pauli provide the basis for the story featuring Gerd and Modschiedler, the ill-assorted couple (if at all amateur actors, who act themselves) of this fantastic movie.

The most outstanding characteristic is the idiom of the 1970’s – as a German native speaker you will have lots of fun watching this movie. From my perspective the funny but very authentic dialogs are the key highlights – not only of the movie but also of the 1970’s.
