This is what happens in Unico and the Island of Magic. The title character, Unico, is a little unicorn with pink hair. He flops around the place, not knowing who or where he is, having been placed there by angry gods. He meets a wannabe cat who hates his guts, then a little girl with a woman’s voice and hoof feet named Cheri. They go on many adventures to get her parents (and everyone else who has been turned to wood) back by the apprentice Toby.

One Problem. Karuku. He is a forgotten puppet gone bad. He controls the world and makes people wooden puppets. He has fat eyes.

All in all one of the freakiest movies I’ve ever seen. Karuku is one of the most bizarre creatures in the face of movies, and every time I hear a flute I think of tripped out Toby. Good animation and all, but one bizarre movie all the same.
