The Plot:
The film is set around 1914 when Lebanon was under the Ottoman Empire rule. The empire enslaved men to work for free. Abdou goes to get Adla the engagement ring but he’s arrested with others and are taken to cut lumber. Meanwhile the Ottomans prevent the wheat from arriving to certain villages because they want to defuse the ongoing resistance operations led by Abou Ahmed. Adla travels to where some say Abdou is held prisoner and she meets with Abou Ahmed. She along other villagers start helping the resistance get the wheat to the people. When they accomplish their mission, Abou Ahmed, freed Abdou and others escape because now they’re wanted, but on a promise to return and to continue fighting.

Plot: The mayor of a small village invents a fictional character called ‘Rajeh’ which he claims he fights on the outskirts of the village. But some people question the mayor’s stories and call him a bluffer. He admits to his niece, Rima, the truth. He made it all up. Fadlou and Eed carry on a number of crimes and blame Rajeh for it. It’s the time for the annual singles festival where males and females still unmarried get engaged, and it’s when Rajeh appears. People start getting scared forming community watches looking for Rajeh.

Bint El-Harass (Arabic: بنت الحارس) AKA The Guard Daughter is a Lebanese musical-drama directed by the Egyptian director Henry Barakat (known for Doa al karawan AKA The Nightingale’s Prayer) story, dialog and musical score by the Rahbani brothers Assi & Mansour and starring the greatest voice ever lived Fairuz.
This is the third and maybe the last film starring Fairuz after Biya el-Khawatim AKA The Ring Seller and Safar Barlek and the second collaboration between the director and the Rahbani brothers and Fairuz.

A young girl’s father is fired from his job as a guard because there are no more criminals left in town so she pretends to be a thief in order to stir up trouble and get him his job back.
