Based on the novel ‘Matéria de Memória’ of Carlos Heitor Cony, it tells the story of a widowed man who maintains ambiguous relations with his mother-in-law, who lives in the same house. Then he decides to lock himself in the room, reviving memory through old letters and photographs. An absolute rarity.

This film was taken as lost for several decades when finally got restored in 2007. However some of the rollfilms were highly harmed due decomposition proccess and thus irrecoverable, resulting in the black display from 00:08:16 to 00:25:43. This is the only known copy of the movie.
