He seems to be, like Bryan Forbes, a vastly underappreciated and too often dismissed filmmaker. ‘The Swimmer’ really divides viewers, but seems to gain recognition as it ages. Hopefully you will eventually post ‘Last Summer’ and ‘Play It As It Lays’ which are two of his best hard-to-find films.
I was told about this one from someone who went to school in the 1950s ‘duck & cover’ era. Highly recommended.
